Free Nurse Clinics

In order to boast a service that is second to none, we provide a number of free check-ups for the animals in our care. From day-to-day essentials such as weight and teeth to more serious care such as post-operation checks and diabetes, we look after all avenues.

These check-ups are an added extra to our regular treatments such as microchipping and vaccinations.

Post Op Checks

We all know that it is nice to have a bit of extra loving care when you are recovering from an operation and animals are just the same. That's why, at Ash Barn, we pay special attention to our vulnerable patients. This allows us to monitor their progress and keep a watch on any infections that may crop up following surgery. We can make sure that they are recovering from the anaesthetic as they should be and that they are maintaining a healthy appetite to keep their strength up. It is also a chance for you to talk through any worries that may be going through your mind.

Weight Clinics

Weight can fluctuate for pets just as much as for humans. At Ash Barn, we like to closely observe any changes because a sudden loss or gain of weight can be a sign of a more serious condition. Regular checks allow us to monitor an animal's eating regime. This is also the perfect opportunity for you to ask us any questions you may have about your pet's diet.

Senior Pet Clinics

Pets suffer from the same ailments that we all expect with old age and we are here to offer support and advice as they enter this phase. For cats and dogs, their senior years begin at around 8 to 9 years old and we want to make sure that they are as comfortable as possible so that they can continue to enjoy life. Our clinic means that we can quickly pick up on any illnesses or diseases that may start to develop in an older pet allowing us to start treatment immediately. We will also provide you with all of the advice that you need to keep your pet content at home, complete with a tailored treatment plan.

Dental Clinics

It is vital to keep up-to-date with the treatment of your pet's pearly whites, to avoid decay and disease. We offer dental check-ups for dogs over 3 years of age and cats over 5 years. Regular appointments mean that we can detect early signs and get on top of things so that they do not develop into a more serious problem.

Diabetic Clinics

On Thursdays and Fridays, we hold diabetic clinics for those pets who suffer from this condition. This allows us to keep a close eye on their progress and adapt their treatment accordingly. We will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have on caring for your animal at home.

Worming and flea treatment

Worms and fleas are a real pest to keep at bay. However, at Ash Barn, we are on hand to help owners get rid of them. Once we have devised the best solution for your pet, we can book you in and send those little critters on their way.

Juvenile clinics

Just like babies, puppies and kittens need an extra helping hand in the beginning. They are quite vulnerable in the first few months so it is vital to keep track of everything. To help you with this, we offer 6 monthly check-ups, which enables us to double-check their progress. These clinics are also a perfect chance to make you feel at ease as it can be quite intimidating being responsible for such a small animal.

Fireworks are a common complaint of pet owners, particularly those with dogs. However, relief is close at hand. There are a number of different ways to calm animals and we are here to find the right path for you and your pet. Whilst you may associate fireworks with Bonfire Night, these sparkles can light up the sky at any time of year so it is advisable to continue with the treatments. Come and see us today to talk through the various options.
